The 2021 best mini bikes for adults list is a short one with only three mini bikes making the list - the Coleman CT200U, the Massimo MB200, and the MotoPro X-Pro 200. The Massimo MB200 and the X-Pro 200 are almost identical. The Coleman CT200EX is also almost identical to the Massimo and X-Pro. The Coleman CT200U is similar to the CT200EX, but is has a different seat, doesn't have a headlight, and it's the least expensive of the three adult minibikes. This article look at the CT200U, not the CT200EX.

Coleman CT200U minibike

The Coleman CT200U minibike (Amazon) has a four-stroke OHV 196cc/6.5HP engine that can go up to 20 mph. The minibike itself weighs 121 pounds, and has a recommended max weight of 200 pounds. There's a kill switch, but no electric start - it's fired up via a pull cord. The fuel tank holds .95 gallons, and you'll need to have a quart of 10W30 on hand. Like many motorized products, the Coleman mini bike is shipped without any oil, so be sure to check the oil level before cranking the engine.

The Coleman CT200U has hand-operated drum brakes, 6.5" of ground clearance, chain guard, kick-stand, and muffler guard. The wide, low-pressure tires provide good traction and act as the bike's suspension when travelling over rough terrain. The Coleman CT200U has a 90-day warranty.

The Coleman mini bike comes mostly assembled - you'll just need to attach the handlebars, and the instructions are very easy to follow. Coleman minibikes are made in China, but are designed in Arizona.

Massimo MB200 minibike

The Massimo MB200 minibike also has a four-stroke OHV 196cc/6.5HP engine and is pull-start, but it can go up to 25 mph instead of 20 mph, and the fuel tank capacity of .82 gallons is slightly smaller than the Coleman's .95 gallon tank. In addition to utilizing wide, low-pressure tires, the Massimo MB200 has a hydraulic telescopic suspension in front. There's 8 inches of ground clearance, hand-operated drum brakes, and an engine kill switch. The minibike itself weighs 152 pounds, and has a recommended max weight of 200 pounds.

The MB200 has a front headlight, small gas tank storage compartment, chain guard, kick-stand, and muffler guard. The Massimo MB200 is CARB approved in California, and has a six-month warranty.

Massimo minibikes are made in China, but Massimo has a 325,000 square foot warehouse and distribution hub in Garland TX.

X-Pro 200 minibike

The Moto Pro X-Pro 200 minibike is essentially the same bike as the Massimo MB200. Same four-stroke one-cylinder 196cc/6.5HP engine with pull-start, same top speed of 25 mph, and same .82 gallon fuel tank. The X-Pro 200 has the same hydraulic telescopic suspension, 8 inches of ground clearance, hand-operated drum brakes, and engine kill switch. Same 152 pound bike weight, and recommended max weight of 200 pounds.

Also the same on the X-Pro 200 is the front headlight, small gas tank storage compartment, chain guard, kick-stand, and muffler guard. The X-Pro 200 is also CARB approved in California, and comes with a six-month warranty. Because the bikes are so similar, compare prices for both bikes to see which is cheaper, or if you want a specific color it may be available with one brand but not the other.

The Coleman, Massimo, and X-Pro minibikes are simple, old-school minibikes that are easy to work on, and easy to modify. For example, the governor on the minibikes are controlled by a screw (similar to an idle screw), and simply backing off the screw will provide more power. There are also aftermarket sprockets you can get as well. The Coleman CT200U in particular has a proven long-term track record and there are plenty of tutorials and how-tos for modifying the minibike.

Coleman and Massimo You Tube videos

Here are a couple of videos of the Coleman CT200EX and Massimo MB200. The first video shows the Coleman CT200EX, but it's the same size engine and horsepower as the CT200U, so you'll get a good idea of how it rides. Dad is on the Honda, and his son is on the minibike behind him. The second video is the Massimo MB200 and it doesn't show a lot about the bike, but it's the only minibike video Masssimo uploaded to their You Tube channel. The guy riding it looks like he's well over the 200 pound mark.
